Wednesday Printspiration
So this week, I’ve fallen in love with the modern, geometric prints from UK-based artist Emma Lawrenson. These things are gorgeous!
She’s one of those folks with a super legit academic training background yet still fits so nicely into the non-pretentious, design-loving Etsy community. I love that. She has a seriously killer shop.
Studio shot!
Insider photos are my favorite.

Art Inspiration: Personal Message
Lately I’ve been obsessed with the blog Personal Message, where two guys, Michael Dumontier and Neil Farber post their artwork. Usually it’s small things that you can buy on the site for pretty cheap. Their artwork is simple and ambiguous, just how I like it.
I love the paintings the most.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Today’s Dose of Lovely
#1. I’m really diggin this look inside the ranch home of laminate king, Ralph Wilson Sr. of Wilsonart International. Those wall inlays are the best.

#3. How cute is this picture of Winona Ryder & Alec Baldwin on the set of Beetlejuice? Makes me want to watch it again.. like now.

If Georgia O’Keeffe went Etsy shopping…
It’s time for my third installment of Imagining What Great Figures from the Past Would Purchase on Etsy If They Were Living in Today’s World.
I have already climbed into the minds of Thoreau and Sylvia Plath, and today I’m channeling the great American painter Georgia O’Keeffe. You know, the austere lady who lived out in the deserts of New Mexico and painted massive, breathtaking flowers and cow skulls. The one who totally KILLED IT at a time when women had no real presence in the art world, and she killed it to the point where she became one of the most well-known and influential artists of the 20th century. Yeah that one.
Here’s what I think she’d score if she was young, alive, and perusing Etsy today:
These antler earrings would be right up her alley. Simple, elegant, and very nature-y.
O’Keeffe was the queen of all-black attire. She would definitely add this vintage Liz Claiborne dress to her puritanical wardrobe.
Exactly what O’Keeffe did.
Which is why she’d love this print.
She would collect vintage botanical prints like this one to line her studio walls.
They’d be inspiration and source material for her floral paintings.
